Welcom to Sweden against racism
Sweden against racism provides an overall national and international picture of the work against racism, xenophobia, and ethnic discrimination that goes on in various sectors and at various levels of society.
 
Sweden against racism provides information and knowledge about racism and discrimination, but also about what various public insititutions (Governmental or not) are doing to combat it. There is also information about international conventions, and national and international legislation.

In the year 2000 the Swedish Integration Board received orders by the government to build a national databank about the work against racism, xenophobia and ethnic discrimination - Sweden against racism. This databank was to contain information about different methods for and experiences of counteracting racism, xenophobia and ethnic discrimination; knowledge about national actions within various sections of society and on different levels; as well as corresponding information regarding the work conducted in other countries.

The Swedish Integration Board has since 2001 been engaged in building up the databank that you presently find yourself in. The Swedish Integration Board chose to present the databank in the form of a website, Sweden against racism, in order to optimise its availability to a wider public. An evaluation of the efforts taken was conducted in December 2002.

Following an agreement between the Centre against Racism and the Swedish Integration Board, this databank - Sweden against racism - has been moved to the Centre against Racism as from 01-01-2005. The agreement means that this databank is owned and administrated by the Centre against Racism.
